Although born in the latitude of the USA that remains above 50 degrees centigrade for most of the year, Steve Yeager has lived in the north - snow covered Minnesota for most of his life.
Relying heavily on his fathers record collection while growing up, he formed a great appreciation for all kinds of music - and blessed with an uncanny ability to bang on things and make them sound half way decent - became a musician.
From an early age, Steve sought to know the chord changes to tunes he liked - and the other inner-workings of music, and that parlays into the way he performs and writes today - and the things he teaches about at places like the University of Minnesota.
Bound by his inability to sing in tune, Steve’s early penchant for pop music needed to be side-barred for the seedier underworld of jazz instrumental performance. That hasn’t stopped him from employing verse/chorus/verse pop music architecture, groovy sounding licks or catchy hooks to his music.
Steve is active as a composer for film and TV placements, often utilizing the hip sound of the vibes to peak a music libraries interest in publishing his music.
Steve graduated from St. Johns University in Collegeville Minnesota, and later studied music performance and production at Berklee School of Music in Boston.
